Practical Case Studies of Common Serological Issues Encountered in the IRLProgram Overview
On September 24, 2018, the Blood Systems organization united under one shared name, Vitalant. Programs posted prior to that date may contain legacy branding.
Using actual case studies from the Blood Systems Laboratories IRL in Tempe, Arizona, we will take a practical look at instances where the IRL can provide additional information for the treatment of complicated patients. Join us for this discussion of IRL testing techniques and examples of transfusion management recommendations for those patients.
Upon completion of the workshop, the participant will be able to:
Determine when to refer samples with red cell serological problems to the IRL
Demonstrate IRL testing techniques using clinical case studies
Discuss the transfusion management of patients with complex serological work ups
