This intermediate- to advanced-level course addresses techniques and methods used in complex serologic workups. The reagents and techniques used in antibody identification are described along with how to interpret the results obtained from this testing. Steps to take in serologic testing are coved for workups involving cold and warm agglutinins and allo- and autoantibodies. Case studies are presented to illustrate the appropriate techniques to use in different types of serologic investigation.
